Q: Are we really going to save money on our heating bills with new windows?
A: Absolutely! Our windows have an outstanding U-factor. U-factors are dynamic and depend on four variables. The NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) is the most comprehensive and accurate testing source available. The Council sets points for entire window units, not just the glass. We have Energy Star products with U-factors ranging from .50 to .20, and we are Energy Star Rated. To see how much you can save on your energy bills, Click here to view our Energy Savings Chart.
Q: What colors can I choose from for the window trim?

Q: What should I know about glazing?
A: Glazing provides a tighter seal against water penetration. This eliminates condensation between the panes of glass and offers a better view out your window. St. Clair windows have Dual-Durometer exterior glazing.
Q: Are the windows constructed with a two or four-point welding system?
A: Your windows are guaranteed to be perfectly square because St. Clair welds all four corners simultaneously. Perfectly square windows mean a perfect fit.

SIDING
Q: How does vinyl siding compare with other siding materials?
A: In a way, it’s almost no contest. When compared to wood, brick, stone, stucco, and metal sidings on the basis of initial cost, maintenance costs, appearance, durability and value, vinyl siding is clearly superior.
St. Clair offers a broad range of vinyl siding products, so you can choose one that’s easily affordable. Whichever you choose, you can expect the highest quality and lasting beauty. And, St. Clair vinyl siding never needs painting or staining. It doesn’t chip, peel, dent or rot, so you can forget costly repairs. Just rinse occasionally with a garden hose.
In addition, St. Clair vinyl sidings are backed by a strong Lifetime Limited Warranty. And, because vinyl is the preferred siding for more and more homeowners, it retains most of its installed cost. Moreover, St. Clair premium vinyl siding provides all the beauty of expensive wood sidings with your choice of smooth or grained surfaces; rich, low-gloss colors; and a variety of classic siding profiles. Click here to view our siding options.
Q: Isn’t it less costly to just repaint my home?
A: If you plan to move within the next three years, the answer is probably “yes”. But, if you plan to stay in your home longer than that, the calculations begin to heavily favor vinyl siding.
Of course, if your home has special problems – for example, warped clapboards that have to be replaced or lead-based paint that has to be scraped and sanded off – the cost of painting can become truly staggering.
According to Remodeling Magazine (October 1996), investing in new siding can prove to be an excellent choice in terms of payback. In the West, a homeowner can recoup 65% of the cost of siding, in terms of resale value added to the home. In the east, the payback is 76%. In the South, it’s 84%. And, in the Midwest, the cost recouped is 69%.
Compare the ongoing costs of painting every three to five years to a one-time investment in new vinyl siding. For most homeowners, the conclusion is obvious – vinyl siding is by far the better long-term value.
Q: Are there any other materials that are better than vinyl?
A: Not when is comes to siding. Vinyl siding’s outstanding features and benefits have made it the most popular siding material in America today. And, because vinyl is the preferred siding for more and more homeowners, it retains most of its installed cost (see previous question for details). It’s the material of choice on new luxury homes…and the first choice for remodeling projects large and small.
St. Clair offers a broad range of vinyl siding products, so you can choose one that’s easily affordable. Plus, St. Clair vinyl siding never needs painting or staining. It doesn’t chip, peel, dent or rot, so you can forget about costly repairs. To maintain a like-new appearance, just rinse occasionally with a garden hose.

A: Vinyl siding is one of the most versatile exterior design products you can work with. St. Clair offers many different vinyl siding lines. Q: What accessories and trim are available?
A: When you design the exterior of your home, you should think about more than just siding. You’ll need trim for windows and doors, and at inside and outside corners. You also may need soffit to finish the underside of eaves, or for a porch ceiling or entry overhang.
With St. Clair, creating a finishing touch that sets your home apart is easy because St. Clair offers a complete range of easy-care accessory and trim options. Standard trim lets you merge siding and trim pieces to create a balanced, uniform look. Trimworks® decorative accessories provide the premium look of hand-crafted beauty. No other siding company offers you as many trim and accessories. That’s why St. Clair is the first choice among homeowners who really want choices.
Q: Is vinyl siding really as durable as everyone says?
A: Absolutely! The correct technical name for the material used in vinyl siding is polyvinyl chloride. It’s a strong, durable, proven material that has earned a solid reputation for its beauty and permanence. It’s used in automotive applications, medical devices, defense weapons, appliances, floor coverings , and of course, home construction.
It’s ideal as an exterior material because vinyl siding doesn’t rot, crack, dent or warp. Plus, it never peels or blisters. And, because the color goes completely through St. Clair siding, it never has to be scraped, sanded or painted.
Q: Is one season better than another to have my new siding installed?
A: Not really. You can have your vinyl siding installed in any season, as your schedule and budget allows. Regardless of when you have your new siding installed, you‘ll enjoy the immediate benefits of improved appearance, as well as the long-term benefits of durability and easy maintenance.
GUTTERMONSTER
Q.
What will GUTTERMONSTER look like on my home?
A. GUTTERMONSTER's unobtrusive design and stylish colors make it look more like decorative roof trim than a gutter protection system. The Top Cap installs neatly under the second row of shingles, and the bracket and overlap slots in each cap section ensure that GUTTERMONSTER is positioned in exactly the same place along the full length of the roof line for an attractive finish.
Q. Can GUTTERMONSTER handle heavy downpours and snows?
A. GUTTERMONSTER attaches to the fascia board rather than the roof, so the entire gutter is extremely well supported and will not detach or sag under heavy snow loads. And, the bracket works with the heavy-gauge aluminum Top Cap to handle 5" of rain per hour without
over flow (as a point of reference, hurricane-strength storms average about 6" of rainfall per hour).
Q. Will GUTTERMONSTER damage my roof?
A. Unlike other reverse-curve products, GUTTERMONSTER does not need to be screwed into the roof - the Top Cap is locked into position by the bracket, which is attached to the fascia board.
Q. How is GUTTERMONSTER installed? How long does it take?
A. First, your certified GUTTERMONSTER installer will thoroughly clean and flush out your gutters. Then, he will make sure your gutters are properly secured and pitched before beginning the installation. Next, the support brackets are installed every 2' and are screwed into the fascia board with a stainless steel Hex Head screw. The Top Cap is installed underneath the second row of shingles, and patent-pending inside and outside corners are installed where needed. Custom designed End Caps finish off the ends, and the area is cleaned and all debris is hauled away. Installation rarely takes more than one day.
Q. Is GUTTERMONSTER guaranteed to work?
A. Yes, GUTTERMONSTER comes with a lifetime warranty, guaranteeing its performance as long as you own your home.
Q. Will GUTTERMONSTER fit my gutters and work with my roof pitch?
A. GUTTERMONSTER includes an extender bracket that fits onto the primary bracket, so GUTTERMONSTER can fit gutters as large as 7 inches, and will work with even the the steepest roof pitches.
Q. Can sand/shingle grit/pine needles get into GUTTERMONSTER?
A. Occasionally, small debris can get into GUTTERMONSTER, but because GUTTERMONSTER so effectively keeps out large debris, it washes harmlessly through the system.
Q. Will GUTTERMONSTER ever come loose or pull away from my gutters in strong wind conditions?
A. The bracket secures the Top Cap firmly in place all along the roof line, ensuring the Top Cap will not budge under strong winds.
Q. Does GUTTERMONSTER require maintenance?
A. GUTTERMONSTER does need an
initial 30-day weathering period to fully activate the surface of its Top Cap - but after that, it is a maintenance-free product.
Q. Can GUTTERMONSTER collect roof valley runoff?
A. GUTTERMONSTER patent-pending Inside and Outside Corners eliminate gaps to prevent debris from infiltrating the system, and help distribute water along the adjoining Top Caps.
